Dr. Matthew R. Byarlay

Matthew R. Byarlay, DDS, MS, is board certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery by the American Board of Periodontology.  He is an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Periodontics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. 

Dr. Byarlay received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996, completed his Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree summa cum laude from the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School in San Antonio in 2001 and completed his periodontal residency, earning a Master of Science in Oral Biology degree and Certificate of Periodontology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in 2004. 

Dr. Byarlay is a clinical instructor in the Graduate Periodontics and Implant Clinics at the college as well as the VA Dental Clinic. He is also the director for the Surgical Dental Implant and Guided Bone Regeneration Courses given to the graduate students. Dr. Byarlay maintains a part-time private practice at University Dental Associates and specializes in treating all forms of periodontal disease, soft and hard tissue grafting, dental implant therapy, extractions, biopsies,  uncovering impacted teeth for orthodontic purposes, and offers IV sedation.
